 Project Overview

 

Location:

  • Phase II focused on Reaches 5 and 4 of the larger project
  • begins about one-half mile downstream of the Edwards bridge and ends at the Brett Ranch condos

The Issue:

Poor quality habitat from...

  • fine sedimentation,
  • livestock grazing,
  • denuded riparian vegetation,
  • local aggradation zones, and 
  • channel widening

The Project:

  • To improve habitat and function in the Edwards reach of the Eagle River and its floodplain.
  • Reduce instream temperatures
  • Reduce fine sediment accumulation
  • Improve aquatic, riparian, & terrestrial habitat
  • Improve channel function
  • Improve current land use practices
  • Provide educational/recreational opportunities alongside river
